Breast MRI is highly sensitive, and hard to read
Breast MRI is among the most sensitive methods for detecting breast cancer, particularly in patients at elevated risk. But interpreting those scans takes considerable expertise. Radiologists must assess complex images and decide which findings warrant further investigation, balancing the risk of missed cancers against unnecessary follow-up procedures.
AI that supports radiologists' judgment
PinkStar is developing technology that analyzes MRI scans for subtle patterns associated with suspicious findings, helping radiologists interpret images more consistently, detect potentially significant lesions and reduce unnecessary biopsies.
Its early development drew on Sheba's breast imaging expertise and a longitudinal dataset of women undergoing regular MRI screening. Sheba remains a shareholder and clinical partner.
