Corvus Health
The problem
Surgical referrals take too much work to evaluate
Before a surgical consultation can happen, teams have to collect medical records, review imaging, lab results and treatment histories, and chase down missing information. Fewer than 40% of surgical referrals ultimately result in surgery, yet each one can require extensive manual coordination.
Built with Mayo Clinic surgeons to bring AI to the surgical referral process.
The solution
Surgical Access Intelligence
Corvus' AI-enabled platform gathers and organizes clinical information, automating document retrieval, prior authorization coordination and cost estimation. It applies AI-powered logic to assess surgical eligibility against specialty-specific clinical criteria, helping teams identify patients who are ready for consultation.
Clinicians stay involved throughout the process, and surgeons retain responsibility for clinical decisions.

"Ian brings exactly the kind of experience and vision needed to transform how surgical referrals are managed. Over the course of his career, he has built and scaled AI-enabled solutions for health systems, co-founded and substantially grown companies, all while also advising and supporting multiple early-stage startups."
